all newly established permanent, temporary, and recovered stations. Stations recovered, but not used,
must also have a description completed. The description and sketch should be completed on a DA Form
1959, as shown in Figure 2-4, or in an appropriate field book. The field record should be completed in
freehand using vertical gothic lettering. A final DA Form 1959 should be typed and kept with the
official records.
