Add fine and coarse aggregate until you produce a workable mixture having the proper slump. Figure 2-2 (pages
2-9 through 2-11) shows the appearance of fresh concrete containing both the correct and incorrect amounts of
cement-sand mortar (paste). Record the weights of all materials in column (4) of Figure 2-1. Then calculate the
weights for both a one-bag batch and per cubic yard and record them in columns (5) and (6). Calculate and record
the cement factor in pounds per cubic yard as indicated in Figure 2-1 as well as the percentage of fine aggregate
by weight and by volume of total aggregate and the yield of concrete in cubic feet per bag.
