Inside
surfaces. The points are round and slightly ball-shaped. This ball shape
establishes the point of contact.
Where surfaces are likely to have an
inside curvature, error can occur if the radius of the hole being calipered
is less than the radius of the ball-shaped points. Some inside calipers are
equipped with an adjusting screw on one leg to provide fine adjustment of
the caliper legs.
