a. Ground conductors are shown in Figure 2-2. If the ground conductor is covered or insulated,
the material must be green.

NOTE: Aluminum ground conductors must be used with caution. They are soft and will not
return to shape as easily as copper. When used over long periods of time, aluminum conductors
can loosen in the clamp (Figure 2-3). Always check the tightness of connections when working on
a system.
